Petter Hegre is one of the undisputed great photographers of our generation. Perhaps, not since David Hamilton hit the scene in the seventies, has the art world been so smitten. Right now, Hegre has got it ... and everyone wants it. Petter hails from Norway. He spent a year living in the USA as a high school exchange student and later studied photography in Santa Barbara. After graduating he assisted legendary photographer Richard Avedon. He leaped into the international spotlight several years ago with the publication of his first book, My Wife. He has held fast to that initial momentum and in addition to launching the critically acclaimed hegre-archives website, he's published several more books, and relocated to a gorgeous hacienda in southern Portugal where he lives with Luba.
