Rene Whitfield is from Denmark and is married with one son. He spent three years in England as a teenager and it was during this time that he started to study photography. But things happened way back then, and he quit his studies after four months. Photography was to remain a dormant interest for fourteen years - something that he deeply regrets now. But it returned recently, when he started to take pictures of his beautiful wife, and suddenly, he found his work appearing in various publications, including Stern. It's been a bit of a reawakening for him, and has motivated him to take a more professional approach. What started as a minor project to record the natural beauty of his young wife has snowballed into a full-fledged passion for the medium. But he admits to being frustrated. Now that he knows what he wants to do, he wants to do it in a major way. As he relates, "I feel everything is moving very slow … finding models in a small country like Denmark can be kind of difficult when you only want the most beautiful women …. I don't need for my images to be technically perfect all the time. Its more about wanting and needing to capture what I find beautiful and arousing, about being personal."
